Whelan cardigan (Sweater Club 2020) by Julie Hoover review

Whelan Cardigan in Biches et Buches Le Gros Lambswool
Color: Very light pink

For those who are not familiar with Julie Hoover sweater clubs, there is always a cardigan version and a pullover version. If you have read my previous review of the Maron (Sweater club 2020), you will see what the Maron saga was. (Review here: http://yarntocalm.blogspot.com/2021/05/maron-sweater-sweater-club-2020-by.html)

So Julie offered to get this kit for me in very light pink, the color that I requested in the Maron. So I went ahead and bought another kit from the same sweater club.

This is a lovely pattern, the yarn is a bit thicker than I like it to be. Since the pieces are seamed together (I used the invisible stitch), I feel that the seams are a bit thick. The pattern is fairly easy, and with size 8 needles it goes pretty fast. The sizing is also very accurate.

Comparing this yarn to Biches et Buches Le petit lambswool, I definitely like the Le petit lambswool a lot better, it is more soft and fluid, both pre-blocking and post-blocking.

There are 2 Julie Hoover designs that I have knitted multiples: The Sayer in Purl Soho cattail silk ( http://yarntocalm.blogspot.com/2021/05/sayer-sleeveless-silk-top-by-julie.html )  and The Parker cardigan (Sweater Club 2018: http://yarntocalm.blogspot.com/2019/09/parker-cardigan-by-julie-hoover-review.html). I do not think I will knit this for myself again.
